National Youth Day & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

“The 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda or The National Youth Day & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated on 12th January 2022 in the ashrama premises in which Swami Swatmaramananda, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order, was the Chief Guest & Sri Naveen Kumar, First Secretary, Press Information and Culture Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, was the Guest of Honor.

On this occasion, the following programme were conducted:
1.  Release of four books on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vedanta Literature, viz.,
I. Nepali translation of ‘Hinduism’ by Swami Vivekananda
II. Nepali translation of ‘A Short Life of Sri Sarada Devi’ by Swami Pavitrananda
III. Nepali translation of ‘The Hindu Way’ by Swami Samarpanananda &
IV. An original Nepali book ‘Vaidik Adhyatmik Divya Gyan Mala’ a premier on Hinduism based on the teachings of Ramakrishna – Vivekananda-Vedanta Literature, by Sri Bhuvan Pandey.

2. A Cultural Programme-Bhajan Sandhya by Swami Swatmaramananda as a
vocalist &  three others as the accompaniment in the musical instruments.

3. Felicitation of (a) Prof.Dr.Shanker Raj Pant for his enormous contribution in
spreading the message of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Vedanta literature and (b) Srimati Sharada  Satyal for her great contribution in guiding the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda movement to a new height since its inception in Nepal.

4.  Distribution of Scholarship of Rs. 2000 (NPR) each to 25 deserving students – to 2 students on the same occasion and for 23 more students on subsequent days in order to keep the number of presence small due to COVID-19 restrictions.”
